Edward Mostel MD

Edward Mostel, MD was born and raised in New York. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in public accounting from the State University of New York at Albany. After two years employed as an accountant, he sought a career that would allow him to work more directly helping people in serious need. He returned to school and applied to medial school. He matriculated at the State University of New York at Stony Brook School of Medicine.

Edward Mostel earned his medical degree in 1982 from the SUNY-Stony Brook School of Medicine. He completed his residency in internal medicine at Hahnemann University Hospital in Philadelphia Pennsylvania. He was particularly interested with cardiology. He remained in Philadelphia to train in cardiology. He then completed his fellowship in interventional Cardiology specializing in coronary angioplasty.

Dr. Mostel and his family relocated to southeast Florida in 1988 where he established his cardiology practice. Palm Beach Cardiology Center is located at 3365 Burns Road and includes five cardiologists and two physician assistants.  He is affiliated with Palm Beach Gardens Medical Center and Jupiter Medial Center.

Edward Mostel is board certified in cardiovascular disease and interventional cardiology. His fields of expertise include coronary angioplasty/atherectomy and stenting as well as peripheral angioplasty for peripheral arterial disease.  He also implants cardiac pacemaker for people with heart rhythm disorders and IVC (inferior vena cava) filters for people with deep vein thrombo-phlebitis and pulmonary embolism.

Dr. Mostel has special training and expertise in the evaluation of venous disease and the treatment of venous insufficiency and varicose veins.

Edward Mostel, M.D. has been practicing clinical and interventional cardiology in Palm Beach County since 1988.  He specializes in the care of people with critical coronary artery disease particularly acute heart attacks.

In order to improve health care in Palm Beach County, Dr. Mostel established the not for profit organization, IMHARRT (Irving Mostel Heart Attack Rapid Response Track). Through this not-for-profit organization, he has raised funds and established in northern Palm Beach county, rapid transmission of in the field ECGs to the tertiary heart hospital. If the ECG demonstrates an acute heart attack, the hospital will immediately activate 24/7 emergency cardiac catheterization team. This rapid action reduces the time to optimal care, limiting the damage to the patient’s heart.
